Since I've been procrastinating so much lately, I've come up with creative new ways of wasting my time. A few days ago, I joined Swap-bot, a site where you sign up for (you guessed it) swaps. I joined the Create-a-Mix III swap, where the theme this time is "Should be getting better but it keeps getting worse." Of course I chose New Orleans, and now I present the track list (in order even!):
- City of New Orleans - Arlo Guthrie
- New Orleans - Cowboy Mouth
- Walking to New Orleans - Fats Domino
- Mardi Gras Mambo - Zachary Richard
- Down in the Quarter - Paul Soniat
- King of New Orleans - Better than Ezra
- Rich Bitch from the Garden District - Paul Soniat
- Longest Bridge in the World - Dash Rip Rock
- Pontchartrain - Vienna Teng
- Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans - Harry Connick Jr
- I Think I Just Seen Elvis in the Mildew on My Walls - Benny Grunch & The Bunch
- I'm Dreaming of a White Trailer - Benny Grunch & The Bunch
- The Avenue - Cowboy Mouth
- Black Rain - Ben Harper
- The Saints Are Coming - U2 & Green Day
Tori Amos released a new album today, and it's good! In fact, imho it's the first good album she's put out in years - the first I've really liked since Choirgirl Hotel. Here it is:
I bet a lot of America agrees with Tori... Not that it makes any difference.
Audio: Congrats, you're the radio DJ! What six songs are in your first on-air set?

- Artisan - The Rainbow Never Came
- Tori Amos - Silent All These Years
- Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son
- Sigur Ros - Glosoli
Audio: Share an album or song in your collection with a really strange title.
This is a good song, anyway, by one of my two favorite bands ever.
Audio: Share something extremely rare that deserves to be heard.

Artisan is my favorite group ever. I discovered them when I was twelve or thirteen - I downloaded this album off the internet onto a tape recorder. "This is the Way the World Ends" was my favorite song. It's how I found Artisan, in fact: I had just read "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot, and I thought I'd heard the end of it before, so I googled it. I've loved Artisan ever since.
Video: Show us a great music video.
So I was roaming around Youtube, and I randomly decided to search for my favorite band October Project (which is no more - well, it technically is, but they lost their lead singer and now they suck). I had never seen their music videos (I discovered OP just after they broke up - of course) - but a couple are on Youtube! Mwahaha! And now, for your viewing (and listening) pleasure:
Yay! Much thanks to Team Vox for making them easily searchable.
Yep, it's over. Time to put away the Christmas music until just after Thanksgiving next year. But I'm gonna say just one more thing...
Listen to this:
So. Is it one of those things where you had to be there?
Oh, and in case you're interested, you can buy the album on Amazon.

And I know it's wrong in so many ways, but I also really like Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams (are Made of This)."
- "Two of Us" - Aimee Mann and Michael Penn (thanks to A Modern Girl)
- "Hurt" - Johnny Cash (thanks to Paperheart)
- "Mad World" - Gary Jules (okay, this is really my favorite - thanks, Frostbitten)
